In case you didn’t know, April 14 is National Equal Pay Day, so if you haven’t planned a protest or picked a bra to burn yet, the clock’s tickin’, ladies.
Levo, which describes itself as a “growing community of professional women seeking advice, inspiration, and the tools needed to achieve their career goals,” launched a campaign called #Ask4More, encouraging women to demand equal pay to their male peers, and to help other women empower themselves. The campaign has several celebrities spokespeople, including none other than Jewish comedian Sarah Silverman.
In a promotional video, Silverman eloquently shares her experiences being paid less than male comedians, and what she did about it. She also discusses the overwhelmingly negative reactions to her stances on feminism, and how women must continue advocating for themselves.
