That’s right. The new Monopoly game is missing Rey, only the main character of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” My feminist gears are turning, and they’re not happy. Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, and Finn are all there. If other new characters are there, why not her?
It’s not that I want to read too much into it–and I do get that mistakes happen, but that’s also a huge mistake to make. She wasn’t in a set of Target figures, either. What gives? It’s 2016, women can be protagonists and heroes too. And it’s about time toy companies lead by example, because it’s not just about teaching girls. It’s about everyone.

Hasbro has since responded to the concerns, explaining that they didn’t want to spoil the surprise before the movie came out. Seems a bit weak to me, though, because Finn and Kylo Ren are new characters too. Maybe I’m missing something.
