Looks like Senator Chuck Schumer has another title to add to his impressive resume: grandfather.
On Wednesday, the New York Democrat tweeted an adorable set of photos showing off his newborn grandson, Noah Melvin Schumer-Shapiro (oh, he’s definitely Jewish). His daughter, Jessica, and son-in-law Michael Shapiro named their “very happy Brooklyn baby” after his great-grandfather Melvin, a New York City cab driver.
So proud of my daughter Jessica and her husband Michael for welcoming a baby boy. Schumers & Shapiros are all 1st time grandparents!

Schumer’s daughter gave birth to her 7-pound, 21-inch bouncing baby boy in NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital on Saturday, according to a statement from Schumer’s office. Baby Schumer-Shapiro is both the first grandchild on both sides of the family (awwww).
It’s been an eventful, simcha-filled couple of weeks for the senator. Just last week he saw his younger daughter Alison Schumer marry Elizabeth Weiland. And apparently, he wore a green kipah to match her shoes.
Mazel tov to the entire family on their beautiful new bundle of joy!
