Playgrounds are often thought of as happy places for kids to go to–but it can be a daunting place if you have a kid with special needs and disabilities–which make using the play equipment difficult. Now there’s a new playground at the Ilanot School in Jerusalem that is accessible to all.
Yuval Tsur, the school’s principal, explained in a YouTube video that the playground was previously in disarray and was not safe–which meant none of the students could use the space. Apparently, the new playground was inspired by Shel Silverstein’s “The Giving Tree.” Many of the students are thrilled to be able to have the space–which is a beautiful thing to witness.
