Scarlett Johansson’s forthcoming movie “Rough Night,” also stars fellow Jewish actresses Ilana Glazer and Zoe Kravitz, along with my comedic favorite, Kate McKinnon. On one hand, I’m totally on board with this cast and premise, considering it’s all about a girls’ vacation together–you know the one, the one where you get to see your friends without your partners or kids. And I like that they go a little wild. It uses the same trope so many dude movies use. Can’t hate on that.
I’m not sure if totalllllly on board with the whole “male stripper is crushed to death by girl” plot (Jillian Bell’s character apparently gets a little too excited during a lap dance). Because, well, it’s a little too over the top for my taste. But perhaps it’ll be funny anyway— they’ve certainly got people talking. The film comes out on June 16, so only time will tell.

It’s both an exciting and tumultuous time for Johansson, considering she is in the middle of a divorce— and custody battle— with her French journalist husband Romain Dauriac.
