One of the nice thing about living in Europe when I was pregnant was the ability to order a glass of wine and some stinky cheese at a restaurant and not have anybody bat an eye.
When I returned to New York a couple of months before my due date, it was a shock to the system. Forget wine, I didn’t dare eat cold cuts, unpasteurized cheese, or meat cooked anything less than well-done, in public, that is.
So it is with great pleasure that I share with you this story from the New York Times explaining that drinking–in moderation–while pregnant is really alright.
Now, if they could just release a study on why pregnant ladies should eat yummy, gooey cheese.
Can we ask?
