Julia Louis-Dreyfus Started Cancer Treatment–With a Sense of Humor

Julia Louis-Dreyfus revealed she has breast cancer several weeks ago on her Instagram. It appears the Veep star is now undergoing cancer treatment, and this week she shared a photo after her second round of chemotherapy.

Dreyfus found out about her cancer only one day after winning her sixth consecutive acting award for her comedic series. It seems Dreyfus has been dealing with her illness with humor, stating in a new Instagram post that she found inspiration from Katy Perry’s “Roar.”

Dreyfus’ use of humor reminds us that while we can’t change our situations–and the cards that are sometimes dealt to us–we can control how we react and cope. And of course, it’s OK to be sad and angry and discouraged and anxious when we receive bad news (especially when it affects our health), but adding in a little humor every now and then never hurt anyone.
