Jewish Dad Andy Cohen Has Coronavirus and Honestly We Don’t Know What To Do

It seems like COVID-19 is targeting mensches. Earlier this month, Tom Hanks opened up about being diagnosed with the virus in Australia. Now, Andy Cohen, father of the cutest Jewish baby in the world, a total mensch, and a Jewish icon (the man invites his rabbi on his show!), announced on Instagram that he was diagnosed with coronavirus.

After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus,” Cohen wrote on Instagram. “As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home [Cohen was supposed to start taping the show from his home this Sunday], we’re putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better.”

Cohen had planned to hunker down at home with his son, Ben, and his nanny beginning last week. However, he did go for a walk on Sunday and delivered groceries to a neighbor, who was also diagnosed with COVID-19. It’s possible that is when he contracted the virus.

“It is likely that many of us did come in contact with someone last week who had it and maybe didn’t know it,” Cohen said. And he is, of course, so right. That’s why we all need to stay home and avoid coming into contact with others, as hard as it is! This is about protecting others, not just ourselves — including our favorite celebrities. (And we all know we need to protect Ruth Bader Ginsburg right now.)

We wish Andy refuah shlemah, and can’t wait to see him and baby Ben reunited and happy on Instagram again.
