Jewish actress Rachel Bloom had a big night just yesterday. She only won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series (Musical or Comedy) for her role in CW show “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.” No big deal.
The 28-year-old, who created the musical show and plays the lead character, told People how “awesome” she feels after winning the award. You don’t have to be famous to know that recognition feels pretty amazing. She joked about her new uses for the trophy, stating she will:
“Kill a burglar. Every part of this is a weapon. Like you should not be allowed to take this on planes. I feel like if a terrorist tried to take over a plane, I could be like, ‘Not so fast! I have a Globe!'”
Recently, she also told Entertainment Weekly her comedic icon is none other than the iconic Tina Fey–and has her own words of wisdom for her fans:

“If I had to choose one, I would say Tina Fey. In the past couple years, creating and performing in her own TV show has really embodied what I look up to. I’ve watched all of “30 Rock,” it’s one of my favorite shows, and you just see that she’s got her sh*t together, from start to finish, and it’s her vision and it’s her voice. That’s very inspirational to me.
Work hard, always be pushing yourself, always be open-minded, and follow the fun…Do what feels unique to you, do what feels like it’s in your sweet spot—but keep pushing yourself in that sweet spot.”
Mazel tov to the young actress! We look forward to seeing what the upcoming year has in store for her.
