If you don’t already know Israeli mom and “Selling Sunset” star Maya Vander, 39, you absolutely should. As one of eight ambitious real estate agents featured in the Netflix reality show about high-end real estate in Los Angeles, Vander manages to avoid interpersonal drama with her no-bullshit attitude and commitment to her family. In other words, we love her!
Vander’s desire to grow her family and find some work/life balance have been a major storyline in the series, which is currently filming its fourth and fifth seasons. Since the show began airing in March 2019, Vander has had two children with her husband, Dave (whom Vander only refers to as “my husband” on social media and the show): Aiden, 2, and Elle, 14 months.
This Jewish family is absolutely adorable — we love it when Vander posts photos of them all together, like this adorable Passover/Easter greeting:
But we’re kvelling today because Vander just announced on Instagram that she is pregnant with her third child! Mazels!
Posing with her husband in front of the Miami skyline — where, yes, Vander also sells real estate — she captioned the post: “Here we go again…baby number 3 will be our Christmas/ Chanukah present! 💙👶”
We are so happy for Vander, and we love how she shares her Jewish identity and her commitment to an interfaith family.
“Selling Sunset” fans will appreciate that some of her colleagues at the Oppenheim Group expressed their excitement at Vander’s news. Christine Quinn, the show’s notorious antagonist who also has a soft spot for her dear friends, commented on the post: “Omgggg I’m so happy for you!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.” So did Davina Portraz, who said: “Love this pic!! Congrats my darling friend!! 💖💙💖💙💖” Aww!
While Vander is blessed with two healthy children, she has been candid about her previous struggles with fertility. She shared on the show that she has had two miscarriages, and she’s also talked about her traumatic birth experience with her first child, which ended with a vacuum extraction. We are so grateful to Vander for openly sharing her experiences, as many, many people face challenges when trying to start a family.
Although the family now lives in Miami, Vander told People that she is staying with the LA-based Oppenheim Group. “I’m actually working with a few potential, very good clients with him [Jason Oppenheim] in L.A. Just focusing on Miami a lot, but I have a couple of pretty interesting clients that I might have to make the trip to LA for.” Yay!
Rumor has it that “Selling Sunset” season 4 may premiere this fall. We’re looking forward to even more great Vander moments, where we’ll see her badass sales skills — and, of course, her adorable kids.
Mazel tov to Maya and her growing family. We can’t wait to meet baby number 3 on TV!
