We’re already thinking about all the beautiful gowns our favorite actresses will be wearing at the upcoming Oscars–and it’s not too far away now–the actual ceremony will take place on February 28, 2016.

Our partner site, JTA, started thinking about recent fashion trends. While the early 2000s were known for the risque motto of “skin is in,” as exemplified by Jennifer Lopez’s legendary plunging green Versace dress, it seems like the tables have turned. Modesty is now chic–and it’s not too hard to see. Adi Heyman, founder of the Jewish fashion blog Fabologie, stated:
“Modesty has very much found its niche within the fashion world, and not just for religious women. There’s an empowerment to owning your look and not having to put everything out there.”
