From Breastpumps to Anti-Semitism, Pink’s Hitting All the Right Notes

Besides being busy with her new album that is about to be released, Pink is busy being a mom. She’s already hard at work on her next album, but in between work, she hangs out with her kids. Considering her son is only 7 months old, this also means she’s been pretty hands on, notably still in the stage of breastfeeding.

Yesterday, she posted a photo on Instagram revealing her routine between songs: Getting to know her breast pump really well. She called it her “mom break.”

And now this #pumpupthejams #mombreak

She also recently posted this sweetly silly photo of her and her son:

In general, Pink has been pretty outspoken about being a mom, saying how it’s changed her:

“You see how you were. When you watch this bundle full of love and light that’s untarnished and untainted by heartache and any of the numerous things that change you, it’s very healing. It’s a miracle.”

When it comes to raising her kids, she wants them to understand privilege, and what that means–and how to give back to the world (holla at your tikkun olam). In a previous interview, she spoke about her daughter Willow:

“I want her to be a global citizen. She’s very aware of the fact that not everybody has a bed to sleep in at night and food on their table and coats on their back. It’s hard for her to understand.

We donate. When one new toy comes in, eight go out. And she loves being in charge of that. She loves looking around and going, ‘Okay, I’m ready to give this one up, Mama.’ ”

When it comes to her parenting fears, she’s mentioned how she is scared of having a “breakable child,” adding:

“What scares me more is having a breakable child. She needs to be out in the world and be able to do things for herself. She’s very capable, she’s very physical.”

Sounds like Pink has a good head on her shoulders when it comes to understanding how to parent–and how to let go when she needs to.

Add this to her incredible post about anti-Semitism this week, and she’s hitting all the right notes.
