Diane Von Furstenberg is a household name. While not everyone necessarily knows what she’s famous for in fashion, the DVF brand is ubiquitous.
You may not realize she created the jersey wrap dress–which you see everywhere–and that comfortable, flattering design changed the fashion world (and working world) forever.
Now that it’s New York Fashion Week, it’s a good moment to celebrate Furstenberg’s influence and life. Furstenberg is the daughter of a Holocaust survivor from Belgium, married into royalty literally when she married Prince Egon von Fürstenberg (although they divorced in 1983).
