Adam Sandler is currently filming “Happy Gilmore 2” (starring Travis Kelce!) in New Jersey and has been spotted in many locations across the Garden State. One of those locations is, of course, a Jewish deli.

Sandler stopped at Goldberg’s World Famous Deli in Millburn last Sunday with his wife Jackie and daughter Sunny (the actor always brings his family to his movie shoots), which thrilled the owner and her staff, who took a photo with the actor outside the establishment dressed in their best Goldberg’s gear.

“It was a dream come true. What a great guy! He lifted the spirits of all my staff and customers. It was contagious, and we are all still on cloud 9! “ Yvonne Kurzyna, the owner, shared.

The Kurzynas bought Goldberg’s deli from its original owners, Marty and Tina Goldberg, two years ago and renovated it. The couple still visit the local establishment often to nosh on their famous bagels and deli sandwiches. “They love it. They love what we did. So everything kind of just fell into place, and it feels right. I don’t feel like I’m going to work, it’s like my second home,” Kurzyna shared.

According to lore, Marty’s dad, Izzy Goldberg, left Poland in 1920 with his family’s secret bagel recipe and started a bagel store in Brooklyn. The descendants of Marty’s brother, Arthur “Artie” Goldberg, still own the Original Famous Goldberg’s Bagels, now run by the fourth bagel-making generation of the Goldberg family, which has chains all over New York.

This isn’t the first time Sandler has been photographed making pit stops at local bagel shops and famous delis. In Montreal, he took his family to the famous St. Viateur bagels, and during the height of the pandemic, he made one Connecticut deli owner really happy when he stopped by to pick up food for his family’s Yom Kippur break fast.
