Mira Jacob is the writer of the acclaimed novel The Sleepwalker’s Guide to Dancing — but it’s her most recent work, an incredible graphic memoir entitled Good Talk that’s the focus of the most recent episode of our podcast, Call Your Mother.
Mira dishes about her autobiographical book, which spans a wide range of years, from Mira’s childhood growing up as the daughter of Indian immigrants in New Mexico, to her life as a mother of a Jewish-Indian son in Brooklyn. Mira discusses with Shannon and Jordana about what it’s like to raise a biracial child in a country where racial tensions are growing, especially when your in-laws’ political views are far to the right of your own.
Plus, Jordana’s wise mom shares her thoughts on abortion — tune into this week’s episode to find out what she says!
