Do you know what happened while the world was waiting, with bated breath, for the news of the royal baby’s arrival?
Our very own Jewish royalty, of sorts — none other than Amy Schumer — gave birth to a baby boy on Sunday, May 5.
In an Instagram posted on Monday, May 6 (yes, the day that other royal baby was born!), Schumer wrote: “10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born.”

As it happens, Schumer’s pregnancy, aside from being closely linked to Meghan Markle’s, had another royal connection: Schumer suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a form of extreme morning sickness, a condition that Kate Middleton also endured in her pregnancies.
No word yet on this baby boy’s name — hey, Amy… we’ve got a lot of great ideas for Jewish baby names here! — but we’d like to say a hearty “mazel tov” to Schumer and her husband, farmer and chef Chris Fischer. While we’re loving the shots of you making a pit stop at the Met Gala site on your way to the hospital, please post more baby pics soon!
