Andy Cohen is Gonna Be a Dad!

Andy Cohen shared some exciting news on his final broadcast for the year of Watch What Happens Live. The Jewish television personality, 50, announced that he’s expecting a baby via surrogate.

“I over share and I expect everyone around me to do the same. Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, fair amount of prayers, and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time, I’m going to become a father thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future,” Cohen told his audience.

(They promptly started freaking out.)

“Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something I’ve wanted in my heart for my entire life and while it has taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be my most rewarding chapter yet. So happy holidays and happy new year to all of you.”

As an outspoken gay Jewish man, Cohen has made a name for himself on Bravo.

He’s proud of his Jewish identity, explaining, “Jewish culture … is so much more than going to temple. It’s about who you are and how you live and how you communicate and certainly how you eat. Anyone who watches my show sees what a part it is of my life.” Also! Cohen visited Israel for the first time this year, as the international ambassador for Tel Aviv’s Gay Pride Parade.
