Wonder Woman Lynda Carter’s Very Jewish Met Gala Look

The OG Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, showed up to the very Catholic Met Gala last night in a very Jewish look.

The theme of the night — “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” — didn’t leave much space for Jewish celebrities. While Carter herself isn’t Jewish, her husband, Robert Altman is — and so are her kids, James and Jessica.

(Plus, the current Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, is most definitely Jewish.)

Carter made a major statement wearing a crown that had the Hebrew words לעולם אל תשכחי embossed on the front. In English, the Hebrew “leolam al tishcechi” means “Never Forget” in the future-female tense. And in the back of her hair was a Star of David barrette.

In a post on Instagram, Carter’s stylist Ann Caruso detailed all the fashion credits that made up Carter’s look: the custom Zac Posen dress, necklaces by Alex Soldier, and other jewelry from Eleuteri (vintage Bulgari!). The Hebrew crown is designed by Ellen Christine. And, notably, Carter is carrying a bag designed by the iconic Holocaust survivor Judith Lieber.

Many on Twitter praised Carter’s bold choice.

All hail Wonder Woman Lynda Carter.
