With great power comes great responsibility. And as an A-list actor, Gal Gadot is reportedly exercising that power and responsibility admirably — apparently refusing to star in “Wonder Woman 2” if director and producer Brett Ratner, who is facing multiple sexual harassment claims, remains involved.
Page Six broke the story. According to that report: “Gadot is saying she won’t sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him. She’s tough and stands by her principles. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can’t have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women.” (At this point, however, Gadot has yet to comment herself, and apparently, a Warner Bros rep said the reports are “False,” according to Cosmopolitan.)
Regardless, the story is a good reminder that superhero or not, we have the power to change the world we live in for the better.
