It’s officially here–the new Star Wars trailer for the eighth movie in the franchise. It’s called The Last Jedi. Based off the title alone, you know it’s going to be good. Now you can get a glimpse with the new 2.5-minute trailer.
The trailer includes characters from the previous movie, notably Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and bad dude we all love to mock, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). And of course, there’s a grizzled Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker, who we’re all excited about being the focus of the movie with the cliffhanger from the last.
But honestly, that’s not the real reason I’m super excited about this one. I’m excited because there’s a cute new guy–and he’s a Porg:
Another thing that will be dealt with in this film is Princess Leia. Because of Carrie Fisher’s untimely and tragic death, her role was cut short. Originally, she was supposed to have a bigger role, but Mark Hamill confirmed there will be closure during New York Comic Con 2017. He said during a panel on Saturday that “they’re going to find a way to close [Leia’s] story in [Star Wars] 9.”
