It’s official: Scarlett Johansson and French journalist Romain Dauriac have split up. The news was originally reported by People on Wednesday afternoon. Apparently, the two have been separated since the summer, according to an unnamed source.
Speculation began over the past weekend (as if people don’t have better things to worry about), as Johansson was seen without her wedding ring (as if that really means anything) at the Women’s March in Washington, DC. The couple started dating in 2012, and married two years later in a secret ceremony after the birth of their first and only daughter Rose Dorothy. This is Johansson’s second marriage, as she was married to actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2010.
The 32-year-old star told previously told People in 2014 that she fell for Dauriac’s intelligence, stating:
“I love his brain more than anything, and he does all the sweet gestures for me. He’s a gentleman.”
Apparently, however, the two remain business partners, as they co-own the popcorn brand Yummy Pop. Hopefully this means they will stay on amicable terms, especially when it comes to co-parenting their daughter.
