Aly Raisman Is a Badass Queen in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue

Our favorite duo is back: Aly Raisman and Simone Biles. The Olympic gymnasts posed together for Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue. And well, they killed it, without surprise. I love that they were chosen for the cover, as it’s a celebration of a woman’s strength and hard work.

MJ Day, Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit editor, said in a statement that both girls are good role models:

“Aly and Simone represent all that is beautiful and strong and inspiring in women today. Women that are not only elite athletes, that are captivating and impressive in their own professional accomplishments (lots and lots of Olympic gold medals between them), but strikingly sexy and beautiful in front of photographer James Macari’s lens.”

I agree with this sentiment myself. It’s important to showcase women who are making a difference–and working hard at their craft. In this case, both Biles and Raisman work hard to be the best gymnasts they can be, which is a great example for everyone regardless of age–we can achieve what we want if we put in the time and energy. For young girls, especially, it’s crucial for them to understand that they can be strong–that their value doesn’t just lie in being attractive.

Here they the shots that have been shared on the Sports Illustrated Instagram:
