Ruth Bader Ginsburg, aka “Notorious RBG,” is pretty much cooler than you are. And at 83 year old, can work out harder than you, too. (Or at least me.) The Supreme Court Justice recently revealed that she does 20 push-ups a day–along with 30-second planks.
While speaking at the Temple Emanu-El Skirball Center in New York City on Wednesday, Ginsburg said:
“I do 10, and then I breathe, and then I do 10 more…At my age, you have to take it year by year. This year, I’m okay.”
In 1999, Ginsburg started working with personal trainer Bryant Johnson after going through treatment for colon cancer. In 2013, she told The Washington Post:
“I never thought I’d be able to do any of this. I attribute my well-being to our meetings twice a week. It’s essential.”
Considering she’s 83 and still kicking butt, I’d say Ginsburg knows what she’s talking about. Maybe it’s time I buy a gym membership for myself.
