The Way This Olive Garden Waiter Helped a Sick Baby Is Absolutely Breathtaking

There’s that phrase that you hear a lot, you know the one–“It takes a village to raise a child.” Well, it couldn’t be more true, especially for one Arkansas mom. Last week, Dallas French and her family went to Olive Garden in Little Rock after spending a tough day at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, because French’s 4-month-old Ellee tested positive for E. coli and needed to undergo a series of tests.

So it’s absolutely no surprise that French was utterly exhausted by the time they got to the restaurant. She was having a hard time simultaneously feeding Ellee and herself–she prepared a bottle for her daughter, but ended up spilling it. Luckily, this is when a waiter stepped in to help, which French described in a post on Olive Garden’s Facebook page:

“I forgot to post this Thursday after all that had happened that day I was really out of it (and probably the lack of sleep this past month) but we went to Olive Garden in little rock after Ellees tests at Children’s hospital and she was starving and I was trying to make a bottle and spilled it all over me an the floor and made another bottle and our waiter ( wish I knew his name) watched all that had happened and just had brought our salad and bread sticks and said here let me feed her and you eat..

This melted all of us and this is what we need more of! He fed her I ate my salad and bread sticks and that milk on the floor got cleaned up after we left because he just understood! He didn’t even know what we had went through that day and showed us love an understanding- not irritated that I had made a mess an my baby was screaming…

Gosh I wish I woulda got his name because he deserves the recognition!! And it’s the Olive Garden on Rodney parham in little rock AR!”

The fact that the waiter stepped in without missing a beat and said, “Here let me feed her and you eat,” just melts my heart. Already, the post has over 155,000 likes–and better yet, the waiter was identified as Robert Davis. Apparently, French has now friended him on Facebook.

French explained why she shared what happened on Facebook to The Huffington Post:

“Everything was such a blur that day, and I was so frazzled and mind-blocked,” she said, adding, “We just left a good tip and left, but I didn’t get to tell him how much I appreciated him doing that one act of kindness and that it changed my whole day and made what’s been going on this past month a lot lighter.”

Thankfully, Ellee seems to be doing well as of now. We’re so glad that a family in need received some much-deserved help–because no parent should struggle alone.
