Sarah Silverman Gets a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Sarah Silverman is among the latest gaggle of celebrities to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Jewish comedian was officially added on Tuesday, at the same time as other notable comedians, actors, and musicians, including Hugh Laurie, Goldie Hawn, and *NSYNC.

So how do you get a Hollywood star? According to the BBC, you have to have been famous for a minimum of five years and have an unquestionable presence in TV, film, radio, live theatre, and/or music. The application must contain a statement from the celeb confirming they actually want a star and would attend the unveiling ceremony if the application gets approved. Whomever nominated the celeb must pay $30,000 if the application is accepted. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce explains that the fee covers the cost of making, installing, and maintaining the star.

Silverman’s honor came shortly before Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph” sequel was announced yesterday. Silverman will be voicing the part of Vanellope. Here’s a peek at the movie’s concept art, which Disney posted on Twitter:

Mazel tov, Sarah!
