Our hearts literally just exploded into a thousand pieces because of this video showing a 7-year-old boy singing Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.” This isn’t just any 7-year-old–sadly, Jeremiah Succar is diagnosed with stage-four atypical rhabdoid teratoid, which is a highly aggressive, fast-growing tumor found in the brain and spinal cord.
Platten, the singer of the song, did the best thing she could–she surprised Jeremiah by showing up at his bedside to sing the song with him. We’re honestly in awe of this little boy’s strength and perseverance. Now the song is even more inspiring than it was before.

Jeremiah’s dad, Jerry Succar, told the hospital how much the song makes it easier for Jeremiah to endure his treatment: “Jeremiah loves ‘Fight Song,’ he memorized the lyrics after three or four times of listening to it. He used to sing it when he got a lot of headaches, but now he sings it in the morning, before bed and during shots he has to get.”
