To gear up for the High Holidays this year, we’re asking our writers and readers for their Rosh Hashanah Resolution. Here’s ones from Kveller writers Rebecca Schorr and Elana Gartner.
From Rebecca:
The Psalmist taught, “The earth is the Eternal’s, and the fullness thereof” (Psalms 24:1). Which means that when we squander things, we are wasting God’s gifts. In this new year of 5774, therefore, I resolve:
• to stop wasting time
• to stop wasting my health
• to stop wasting opportunities
• to stop wasting love
This year I will cherish my loved ones more; cherish my freedoms more; cherish myself more. And may I ever be more aware of God’s Presence in my life and for the many things for which I am grateful.
From Elana:
Introduce my kids to more new experiences rather than doing relying as much on easy, well-worn ideas.
